Job summary
The role of the Head of Governance is to act as the expert in the field of clinical governance. The post holder will hold overall leadership and accountability for the clinical governance agenda of Six Degrees to support delivery of the vision, mission and objectives, and strategies set by the Board. This involves the ongoing review, development and integration of the organisations clinical governance and quality improvement strategy, ensuring action plans, policies and procedures are fully implemented.
Main duties of the job
As an executive director and member of the Quality Assurance & Improvement Sub-group, the post holder will provide specialist knowledge and expert advice across all aspects of governance to the Board, patients, members of the public and staff at all levels in the organisation. They will also support the organisation to improve and learn from gaps in governance and quality. The nature of the role demands that highly complex and contentious, statutory and regulatory requirements are implemented across the organisation and understood by all staff members.

Six Degrees is a patient-facing SME. The focus of the role is on clinical governance with the expectation that this will be integrated with corporate governance. As such, the post holder will be responsible for leading the governance function, managing its performance and monitoring the quality of the service to maximise the effectiveness and impact of the available resources. The role holder will also oversee research development and capability of organisation.

- Develop a robust and deliverable plan to collect and report on statutory compliance matters.
