Job summary
The role involves providing evidence based counselling for people who
experienced significant losses, conducting through assessment of patients’
needs and history; providing group clinical supervision for volunteer
bereavement counsellors. This role is a unique opportunity to take part in
developing a bespoke Bereavement Therapy Service Project for Salford residents in
collaboration with Living Well service. The post holder will work as part of
the existing Mental Health Service structure across Salford establishing and
maintaining relevant partner services links.

Specific responsibilities:
Clinical:
- Provide
psychotherapy to patients who experiences significant losses (in a wide
understanding of the term), which involve six weekly 50 minutes sessions
following BACP guidelines
- Provide
triage and assessment to establish needs, risks and safeguarding
issues.
- Provide
professional clinical group supervision to volunteer bereavement
counsellors
- Undertake
therapeutic sessions and manage own caseload.
- Deliver
talking therapy via various modalities (mainly face to face but also telephone
and video)
- Demonstrate
assertiveness and be able to maintain and manage professional boundaries.
- Appropriately
record and share accurate patient notes.
- Attend
both clinical and managerial supervision meetings
- Use an
agreed outcome evaluation system to monitor clinical outcomes for
individual patients for data collection and establish the services'
effectiveness.
- Work
within the boundaries of the organisation's clinical governance framework
- Adhere
to an agreed number of patient contacts offered following BACP guidelines
and clinical sessions carried out per week to minimise waiting times and
ensure treatment delivery remains accessible, convenient, and within the
service guidelines.
Service Development:
