We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Secretary with Practice Manager duties to join our well-established secretarial department.
Committed to providing a 5* service to our consultant(s) and valued patients, this is a pivotal role dedicated to covering a varied and vast range of secretarial responsibilities to ensure everyone who walks through The Horder Centre doors experiences the high-quality service we pride ourselves on. Knowledgeable with systems such as PIMS and DGL, we are keen to hear from anyone looking to broaden their Practice Manager experience and skills.
Based from The Horder Centre, Crowborough, this is a permanent, full-time role, offering excellent development opportunities to grow and learn within a CQC Outstanding rated setting.
Main duties of the job
- Type clinic letters and operation reports within the in-house computer (PIMS) programme via audio dictation from designated consultants. Also type letters onto the DGL system for external clinic activity and raise invoices accordingly on the DGL site.
- To ensure all of the invoices are distributed to the correct private medical insurer and/or to the patient and instigate a regular credit control process to chase any outstanding monies for your consultants. .
- Liaise with the Customer Service Teams and Clinical Teams to effect the smooth running of clinics, ensuring that consultant specific requirements are relayed and in place prior to the clinic start.
- To collate and work with the consultants to arrange diary management for clinic and theatre activity within The Horder Centre and their external hospital(s).
- Liaise with consultants private/NHS secretaries outside The Horder Centre.
- To book appointments onto the (PIMS) system and DGL for The Horder Centre sites and external hospitals.
- To book operations on the DGL site and correspond with the external hospital(s).

- Excellent communication skills, to help build those all-important and respected relationships with our patients and your colleagues.
- Audio/typing to a minimum of RSA II
- IT savvy! We use a varied range of IT software including PIMS, DGL and Microsoft Office.
- Proactive and forward thinking, with a passion for continued learning.
- A working ethic aligned to our core values as a group: Caring, Friendly, Quality, Integrity and Pride.
- Prior experience within a private practice is desirable.
