Shropshire Council has implemented an innovative multi-disciplinary team in partnership with Shropshire Recovery Partnership (We Are With You), the Midlands Partnership Foundation Trust (MPFT), Connexus, The Shrewsbury Ark and Intuitive Thinking Skills, funded through the Rough Sleepers Drug and Alcohol Treatment Grant provided by the Office of Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID). The Rough Sleeping Drug and Alcohol Team (RSDAT) supports the county in meeting the intended outcomes of the national drug strategy by helping to reduce drug-related deaths, reducing alcohol-related hospital admissions and increasing the number of successful individuals in treatment. The multi-agency MDT provides holistic wrap-around support and drug and alcohol treatment for rough sleepers and those at risk of rough sleeping across the county. Assistance is tailored to the needs of each individual and provides support addressing physical health, mental health, substance abuse, family connections, as well as work to develop a pathway into accommodation.
Our vibrant services across Shropshire provide support to people concerned about their own or someone else's alcohol or drug use. We have services in Oswestry, Ludlow and Shrewsbury but much of our work is carried out in the local communities we serve.
