Please be advised that this is a term-time only, fixed-term position expected to end in June 2026. The post holder will be expected to work 30 hours per week during term time. The salary is £25,000 pro rata. The project aims to add to the PSHE curriculum topic of drugs and alcohol but in a unique way that offers students the opportunity to talk about drugs and alcohol with an external agency and be given information and advice that allows informed choice and a focus on harm reduction. The project also aims to make the YZUP service more accessible for young people should they need it in regard to their own substance use or for support with the effect of a family member's substance use. Qualifications

Essential

• Have an ONC/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent or be willing to complete within 12 months
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required

Experience

Essential

• We are looking for a self motivated individual with proven substance misuse knowledge, experience of delivering group work to young people (11 - 18) and a passion to form positive and consistent relationships with students and professionals within an education setting and other external services.
• The successful candidate needs to have the ability and confidence to deliver an established programme of lessons but also needs to be able to work dynamically to respond to the needs of individual schools, groups of students and, at times, additional community requests. This role also incorporates some design and development of content for the YZUP Social Media pages.
• Have demonstrable experience of working in the youth work, education, social care or criminal justice setting and of working in partnership with a range of statutory and non-statutory agencies
• Experience of developing and delivering training to young people and other professionals
• Demonstrable experience of delivering group work to young people
• Knowledge of drugs and alcohol issues and their impact upon children, young people, parents, carers and families
• Be highly organised and practical with proven IT skills
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Have experience in Risk Assessment and complex case work
• A willingness to travel is a must as the role covers the whole of Cornwall.
