Job summary

The Team Leader role is a key element in providing the variety of services that Cornwall We Are With You offers: this is a large integrated drug and alcohol service working with some of Cornwall's most excluded and disadvantaged people. You will be working in a multi--disciplinary team alongside in-house service including outreach, criminal justice, family and community workers; nurses, doctors and pharmacists; work and learning and a secondary rehabilitation service.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will have a positive approach to working in a dynamic environment with a commitment to providing meaningful services to those who present to our service and achieving this by supporting the existing dedicated team of Recovery Workers. Areas of work include: To support the management team in the delivery of contracted service To positively promote the service and WithYou To manage the staff within the service to ensure staff are well informed, inspired and engaged with WithYou's strategic objectives and that the cohesive culture is developed.

Job responsibilities

A vacancy has arisen for a Team Leader based at our Penzance office to support our Recovery Workers mainly working in the West of Cornwall. You will be working as part of a successful management team on the contract we have been delivering since 2013. Benefits

    Qualifications

    Essential

    • Attained ONC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent or be committed to complete this within 18-months
    • Should you be successful in your application, you will be required to provide 3 years' worth of references and where applicable, will need to undergo an enhanced DBS check.

    Experience

    Essential

    • To carry out this role effectively, you will:
    • have demonstrable experience of working in the health, social care or criminal justice setting and of working in partnership with a range of statutory and non-statutory agencies
    • have a successful track record of management responsibility and development of others
    • have an understanding of the issues facing drug/alcohol misusers or clients experiencing common mental health problems (as appropriate)
    • have knowledge and understanding of harm minimisation in substance misuse treatment or psychological health interventions for common mental health problems in primary care (as appropriate)
    • have knowledge/understanding of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations for clients
    • be resilient, ability to prioritise, work under pressure, and manage competing / conflicting demands
    • be results-driven and possess analytical skills
    • have the ability to work flexible and unsocial hours as required
    • be willing to and able to visit other locations from time to time in order to deliver the services required
