Job summary

As a Recovery Worker you will be providing support and advice to people who are experiencing difficulties due to substance misuse. You will manage referrals into the service, completing triage assessment and providing appropriate harm reduction advice. You will also develop plans with clients to help them get their lives back to where they want them to be.

Main duties of the job

You will work as part of a team with the aims of: understanding your clients keeping them safe creating a plan they can achieve with your support checking in with them and reviewing their progress keeping accurate and timely records of your contact with them working effectively with other social care providers e.g. Housing, to cover all aspects of their successful recovery continuously learning and reflecting to improve the outcomes for your clients supporting your colleagues across the service to deliver excellent care

This post will work within a dedicated Criminal Justice Team that will be both integrated with partner agencies but also an extension of the existing drug and alcohol team in Shrewsbury, Shropshire. As an Recovery Worker you will be meeting people in their space more often than in an office. The role will offer access to required interventions and treatment in outreach locations, as well as bases, improving referral times for psychological, physical health and wellbeing. Making all contacts count and maximising engagement, whilst reducing overall associated harm. Please note that the salary is dependent on experience. Benefits
