Job summary

Our busy and proactive service in Shrewsbury provide support to people concerned about their own or someone else's alcohol or drug use. Much of our work is carried out in the local communities we serve. This Assertive Outreach position will be based in and around Shrewsbury.

Main duties of the job

You will be joining highly experienced individuals who make up our dynamic and assertive outreach team. They are dedicated to supporting the communities across Shrewsbury and Shropshire We provide proactive and assertive outreach in the community to locate and engage with people who have stopped engaging with treatment and recovery services. We offer intensive support to vulnerable adults affected by drug and/or alcohol use and so may have complex vulnerabilities, removing barriers to accessing services and reducing the harm associated with problem alcohol and drug use.

The programme will offer support to people with their drug use, help divert people away from the criminal justice system and offer harm reduction to communities. You will be our ideal candidate if you have experience of and a particular interest in the drug and alcohol field, if you can work well as part of a team and have experience of maintaining excellent links with our partner agencies.
