Job summary

The successful applicant will deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients on the practice list.

The role is for 4 to 8 sessions per week.

Main duties of the job

In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

Rock Healthcare is a long established, forward thinking and dynamic GP Practice currently serving around 9,500 patients. We are based at Moorgate Primary Care Centre in Bury. The site is a modern, purpose-built premises containing a variety of primary care services to meet the needs of the local population. We are proud to be a teaching Practice for Medical Students, Nursing Students, Health Care Assistants and GP Trainees, and are committed to the continued development of our teams.

Qualifications

Essential

  • On GMC GP Register
  • On Medical Performers List
  • Annual appraisal and revalidation, including training for appraisal (when appropriate)
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check
  • UK driving license
  • UK work permit (as required)
  • Willing to undertake continuous personal development and ongoing mandatory training modules

Desirable

  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • MRCGP
  • Experience of appraisal in practice or other healthcare setting
  • Additional clinical skills beyond General Practice

Experience

Essential

  • Chronic disease management
  • Primary prevention and screening services
  • Clinical Governance
  • Delivery of QOF targets
  • Self-audit and reflection
  • Organised and efficient in record keeping and completion of paperwork
  • Time management being able to prioritise work and work under pressure
  • Computer literacy including clinical system insight, Microsoft word and email use

  • Service Development experience and knowledge
