Job summary

The role is an integral part of the Non-Clinical Team at the Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) and will be the initial point of contact when service users arrive.

Main duties of the job

The role will help aid the efficiency and effectiveness of the service and will help BARDOC deliver the key objectives whilst maintaining the correct standard of care. This role will enhance patient experience by lowering numbers in A&E.

Job responsibilities

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following list of duties and responsibilities represents the broad range of tasks, which may be required to be undertaken, either routinely or periodically:

  • Provide a high quality reception service to all users ensuring an efficient, professional and prompt reception and administration service is delivered at all times;
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills at all times with both the clinical and non-clinical teams from BARDOC and the hospital;
  • Deal with all enquiries from patients, staff and visitors in a courteous, efficient and tactful manner referring to appropriate staff when necessary;
  • Provide a welcoming and efficient reception service and to put patients at their ease;
  • Ensure all patients demographic details are captured accurately and checked with the patient and any amendments/corrections are made in an accurate and timely fashion;
  • Maintains confidentiality and contributes to ensuring that data protection and information governance requirements are met;
  • To be aware of any changes which may affect the delivery of the model;
  • Any other duties reasonably falling within the nature of this post.

CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY

  • To maintain patient / colleague / third party confidentiality at all times;
  • Ensure that patients are never sat seen without being triaged;
  • Patients must not be left without any clinical presence on site, this may mean acting up to cover a more senior post or awaiting the arrival of another member of staff to cover;

  • Attend meetings and provide reports as appropriate to the role;
  • Work closely with colleagues to achieve improvements in the quality and efficiency of patient services;
