Job summary

We are looking for a enthusiastic & motivated GP to join our supportive & dynamic clinical team at Rock Healthcare.

The successful applicant will deal with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients on the Practice list.

As a team we have monthly clinical meetings and work collaboratively discussing all significant events, complaints, clinical audits, QOF, Safeguarding, EOL, targets and contracts, clinical pathways, peer review, patient feedback.

We are a valuable and active member of our PCN and staff are appointed via the ARRS roles. Including our GPA, who works alongside our lead GP to support the practice to delivery high quality services and improve health outcomes for patients.

The role is for 4 to 8 sessions per week.

Main duties of the job

The Practice has full leadership support from the lead Clinical GP and experienced Practice Manager, Team Leaders. Our prescribing pharmacists & Pharmacy tech team cover 5 days per week. This supports the Practice as they process the EPS on a daily basis reducing the administration burden for our GPs. We also have the support of our Paramedics in the Practice employed under the ARRS roles significantly reducing the number of home visits required from our GPs. Our acute visiting service provided by BARDOC also support the Practice. We have a Docman hub and our pharmacy team work on the Docman on a daily basis to reduce the Docman flow to our GPs.

Our prescribing clinical team also have the additional support of our experience ANP who works in the Practice 5 days per week dealing with all minor ailments and ASK My GP. Clinics are also held in the Practice by our first contact physiotherapists on a weekly basis. We provide services in house such as joint injections, Paediatric bloods (Bury Contract), Implants & Coil fittings.

In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.

The site is a modern, purpose-built premises containing a variety of primary care services to meet the needs of the local population. We are proud to be a teaching Practice for Medical Students, Nursing Students, Health Care Assistants and GP Trainees, and are committed to the continued development of our teams.

Essential

  • On GMC GP Register
  • On Medical Performers List
  • Annual appraisal and revalidation, including training for appraisal (when appropriate)
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check
  • UK driving license
  • UK work permit (as required)
  • Willing to undertake continuous personal development and ongoing mandatory training modules

Desirable

  • Evidence of continued professional development
  • MRCGP
  • Experience of appraisal in practice or other healthcare setting
  • Additional clinical skills beyond General Practice
