Job summary
This
is an exciting opportunity to shape a new role within One Cares small and
ambitious Communications and Engagement Team. You will work closely with the
Director of Communications and Engagement and line-manage the Communications Assistant.
We are looking for someone proactive and able to put ideas into action, who is happy
delivering day-to-day, alongside thinking strategically.
This
role will lead and deliver impactful communications and marketing initiatives
across general practice in BNSSG and beyond. You will be responsible for
developing and implementing a strategic communications and marketing plan that
supports One Cares priorities and enhances member engagement.
Main duties of the job
Lead member communications and engagement strategies
Develop tailored, audience-focused content using insights and feedback
Champion two-way engagement through surveys, forums, and digital
platforms
Translate complex information into accessible messages
Shape One Cares marketing communications and campaigns
Create engaging content across all channels
Manage creative assets (photography, video, design, copywriting)
Evaluate activity using data and insight
Act as primary contact for media enquiries
Develop storytelling opportunities to highlight impact and innovation
Monitor media coverage and advise senior leaders
Oversee website structure, content, and functionality
Ensure accessibility, brand consistency, and data protection compliance
Lead newsletters, GP bulletins, and regular communications
Develop integrated communications plans aligned with strategic
objectives
Provide strategic counsel to senior leaders

One Care is one of the largest GP federations in England, representing
and supporting 69general practice partnerships, which together care for
more than one million patients in BNSSG. One Careoffers a number of
direct support services to practices, Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and

website, social media, newsletters, and news releases, and manage the Digital

- Degree-level qualification in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, or a related field, or demonstrable equivalent professional experience.

- Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to tailor content for different audiences and channels.
- Experience in leading the planning, management and delivery of events
- Demonstrable experience of managing digital platforms, including websites and social media, with a focus on user experience and accessibility.
- Experience in media relations, including drafting press releases, handling enquiries, and building relationships with journalists.
- Track record of developing and delivering communications strategies that support organisational goals and drive engagement.
- Experience in brand management, including applying brand guidelines and developing brand assets.
- Knowledge of evaluation techniques to measure communications impact and inform continuous improvement.
