Job summary

Were growing our Criminal Justice Services and bringing in a range of roles that really matter. This work is about supporting people in the secure estate who have experienced trauma and sexual harm, and making sure support is actually accessible, not just in theory, but in practice.

Our Outspoken service delivers trauma therapy to residents across the secure estate, particularly those who have experienced ACEs or sexual harm. Its a space focused on safety, trust, and meaningful therapeutic work.

Then theres the Outside Outspoken Navigator, who supports people as they leave the secure estate and begin rebuilding in the community, helping create some continuity during what can be a really uncertain time.

At We Are Survivors, we care deeply about making sure male survivors can access support wherever they are. That includes the spaces that are often overlooked.

Main duties of the job

Facilitate the design, development and delivery of individually tailored care plans and pathways for clients in the service. Undertake individual risk and needs assessments for victim/survivors entering the pathway. Deliver 1:1 trauma-informed/survivor-centred therapeutic interventions. Work within a multi-agency partnership to liaise with other health and social care staff from a range of agencies in the care provided to clients. Accurately record clinical interventions and maintain a high standard of record keeping. Engage in monthly clinical supervision and regular Line Management as directed. Provide accurate client reports to stakeholders that represent the clients needs and wishes. Participation in the development and implementation of continuous service and system improvement. Maintain appropriate professional registration (if applicable) and demonstrate commitment to statutory codes of practice and continued professional development requirements. Undertake specific tasks as directed by a Manager or a member of the Executive Team.

We Are Survivors is a survivor-focused voluntary sector organisation that aims to create and facilitate safe spaces for male (including trans and non-binary individuals) survivors of sexual abuse, rape and sexual exploitation (sexual harms) across Greater Manchester and in the secure estates across the North West, providing access to quality-assured support. Our work is focused on developing ways for individuals to empower themselves to work through personal and sometimes painful issues, guided and supported by our trauma-informed team, following the trauma and recovery model.

Essential

  • A full UK Drivers licence, access to a vehicle and ability to travel around the north west prison estate
  • Safeguarding Children and Adult (Level 3).

Desirable

  • Diploma in counselling, psychotherapy or Social Work (or equivalent).
  • Certificate / Diploma in EMDR.
  • PG Cert / Diploma in CBT.
  • Project Management qualification

Skills

Essential

  • Ability to prioritise own workload.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Good numerical, written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, or equivalent, and electronic database system.
  • Ability to design, produce and interpret data reports.

  • Public Speaking.

  • Knowledge and experience of working within Health & Safety guidelines, processes and legislation.

  • Experience in delivering engaging workshops to a variety of audiences.
