Job summary

We Are Survivors are recruiting a new Therapist (30 Hours) for our ever growing Community Services team.

You will help us to provide key services across Greater Manchester. The Community team is made of therapists, group, and community workers to support men and boys to access the services they need. The roles we are recruiting are to grow this from our central hub wider across Greater Manchester.

Main duties of the job

Positively represent We Are Survivors at all times and in all environments.

Engage in using your skills within your role and beyond to ensure that no male survivor is left behind.

Contribute to developing and maintaining a respectful and positive working environment across the workforce and support all colleagues in engaging in cross-discipline teamwork.

Participation in the development and implementation of continuous service improvement.

Accurately record all information in the relevant and appropriate management or storage systems.

Respond politely, courteously, and professionally to all inbound communications via electronic communications, telephone, or in person, accurately recording any messages or follow-up actions.

Be responsible for reporting any concerns for the safety of an individual or damaged/faulty equipment using ratified procedures.

We Are Survivors, is a survivor focused voluntary sector organisation that aims to create and facilitate safe spaces for male (including trans and non-binary individuals) survivors of sexual abuse, rape and sexual exploitation across Greater Manchester providing to access quality assured support.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BACP, UKCP, BPS (or equivalent).
  • Counsellor/Psychotherapist (BACP recognised).

Desirable

  • Masters Level or above in Counselling/Psychotherapy.
  • EMDR / Post Graduate Diploma in CBT.

Experience

Essential

  • Understanding of issues relating to rape and sexual assault, particularly those relating to boys and men.
  • Experience of providing 1:1 counselling/psychotherapy.

Desirable

  • Experience in data management and information governance.
  • Previous experience of working within a highly confidential setting, adhering to data governance.
  • Previous experience of working within the voluntary, community or social enterprise (VCSE) sector.

  • Ability to prioritise own workload.
  • Good written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite or equivalent and electronic database systems.
