individual who will provide pastoral and spiritual support as part of our Family and Carer Support Services.
Main duties of the job
We are seeking to recruit a
compassionate, enthusiastic and motivated Chaplain to be part of our
Multidisciplinary Team. The successful candidate will deliver and inform on
pastoral and spiritual support to patients, their family members and staff, as
well as, continue to develop best practices, which will inform excellent
palliative care across West Norfolk.
The successful candidate will
have experience or awareness of Hospice or Specialist Palliative Care services
and work collaboratively to promote change and innovation. As part of services
being accessible, the successful candidate will contribute to an on-call and/
or out of hours rota being willing to work during the evening and/ or at
weekends.
The successful candidate will be
an experienced faith leader able to demonstrate good standing within a faith
community, meeting the requirements of their faith/ belief organisation and work
at a minimum of NHS Agenda for Change Band 5 (or equivalent).

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide direct spiritual care to patients and family members and, as appropriate,
to the wider community of NHTH.
- Provide pastoral support to those with any faith or no faith, including patients their
family members, staff and volunteers.
- Provide direction and advice on the provision of spiritual care as an integral part
of the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide informed ethical, theological, spiritual and pastoral resource.
- Participate in the setting, monitoring and reviewing of individual patient care
plans to ensure patients spiritual needs have been assessed.
- To capture and present on data collection informing service delivery.
- To facilitate the provision of appropriate worship and religious expression
reflecting the faith groups represented by patients, carers, staff and volunteers
in response to specific need.
- Take part and develop in education and/ or induction for staff and volunteers
where appropriate and time permitting.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clergy and other faith leaders within
the areas conducive to the work and developments of the Hospice as an
integral part of the local community Liaise with other hospice spiritual care
coordinators/chaplains within the regional network.
- Take personal responsibility for maintaining and demonstrating awareness of
developments and good practice in the provision of spiritual care nationally,
considering the impact of this locally within the Hospice movement in
particular and health/social care in general. Participate in appropriate
education, learning and development as required by the Hospice. Maintain the
appropriate knowledge and skill levels to meet accepted National Standards
(NICE/ CQC guidelines).

Hospice, including supporting the Fundraising Team in identifying opportunities
to promote initiatives.
