Job description

Job responsibilities

** ADVERT  **

Are you looking to develop your skills in a specialist Palliative Rehabilitative role?

Do you have a passion for palliative rehabilitation?

Willing to work across the South East community and within our Wellbeing Hub in Spalding, Johnson Hospital and the new Novak House building?

If this is you, we will be thrilled and excited to hear from you!!

We have a vacancy with flexible working hours options for a Physiotherapist for our developing services. This is an exciting opportunity for an autonomous, highly motivated, and dynamic Physiotherapist to work within St Barnabas Community Services in the South East of Lincolnshire. You will work within a supportive Multi-Disciplinary Team, delivering Palliative Rehabilitation to patients with a range of complex symptom management needs. You will have a vital role in supporting our patients to achieve their goals, and support symptom management. You will work holistically, bringing knowledge from a broad base of experience and skills.

The successful candidate will have strong empathy, communication, and inter-personal skills, with an ability to work well with the MDT team. You will work autonomously and therefore need effective management to handle an ever-changing level of patient need and monitor your own complex case load. There are opportunities to work with palliative patients with a range of conditions, one to one and in groups, both at home and in the wellbeing hub. As we start to re-open the wellbeing hubs, offering face to face appointments, you will have the opportunity to take a key role in helping to shape the current and future services that we offer.

We are a growing and evolving team, exploring the service and skills we offer, extending links to other teams with plans to integrate working further. Working flexibly to the service needs is essential due to the areas we cover and people we support. Previous palliative care experience is desirable but not essential, and we welcome applications from those willing to develop in this rewarding field of care.

Applications are welcome from candidates with:

  • Degree (BSc/MSc) in Physiotherapy
  • Recent post-registration experience in a relevant area, i.e., Acute Medicine, Respiratory, Neurology, Oncology, Palliative Care or Community Therapies
  • Current registration with the Health Care Professional Council
  • Access to independent transport to visit patients in their own homes along with Business car insurance.

We can offer you:

  • Autonomous practice and opportunities to develop Physiotherapy interventions in line with evidence base
  • Continued access to NHS Pension Scheme (Subject to eligibility) or enrolment in SBH pension scheme
  • Flexible working including home based working.
  • Lease car and mileage allowance
  • Opportunity for development and learning beyond registration.
  • Buying/selling annual leave
  • Wellbeing support for all staff
  • Appraisal/increment scheme
