We are currently looking to recruit a Head of Workforce Planning to join us on a fixed term contract to support the existing team & create new ideas to move the department forward & deliver outstanding care for patients.

The ideal candidate will have significant contact centre and workforce planning knowledge and experience having worked in these areas. Strong negotiating & influencing skills are needed, this is a role that will deliver service improvement and cultural transformation through others.

The focus for the role is on driving change as part of a team, at pace, and with a clear vision for how workforce management should be optimised in IC24.

Key Responsibilities and Skills:

Line management of the Workforce Planning Team, and accountable for all associated objectives, workforces and deliverables.

This includes the following priority action areas:

  • 111 Services forecasting and workforce allocation.
  • 111 service performance reporting
  • Determining 111 service recruitment plans and tactics to ensure services are continuously staffed to budget. This will require close collaborative working with our People and Culture team.

Main duties of the job

Five key transformation deliverables:

  • Achieving closer alignment of 111 capacity and demand, improving demand and performance forecasting and more patient calls answered in 20s.
  • Overseeing and embedding the implementation of our new workflow management system, Quynix, ensuring business processes are optimised and controlled, and roles and responsibilities are clear.
  • Reviewing and ensuring our workforce planning function has the skills and capacity to deliver the required end to end workforce management process, including intra-day rota adjustments/fine tuning to optimise performance.
  • Optimising Quynix as a workflow management system across all IC24 operations, standardising and improving workforce management across all services.
  • A driving force and leading role in shaping and implementing the QI Operational Role review workstreams related to contact centre management.

This role works as part of a matrix leadership structure providing workforce management services to three Regional Directors. The post holder will work as part of the Ops team reporting directly to the COO, cross covering where needed and providing mutual support.

As a member of the Senior Leadership Team and Operational Executive Group, the post holder will need to contribute thoughts and ideas, contribute to development of IC24 strategy, and behave in a way consistent with IC24 values.

Location Hybrid working with a requirement to attend our site in Ashford, Kent, one day a week

Hours Available 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm
