From providing high quality integrated urgent care for over six million people, to thinking of innovative solutions for our patients every role at IC24 is made to be brave.

IC24s Overnight Community Nursing meets the nursing and 1-1 Health Care Support needs for patients within the Brighton and Hove CCG location between the hours of 8pm and 8am.

With the extension of the contract and awards of contracts to IC24 for Home Visiting and Clinical Assessment Services it is an exciting time to join this service as it is being developed to support Community Nurses in a career development to a UCP or ACP role if that is of interest and become a permanent member of staff.

Main duties of the job

The service provides both planned visits referred during the day, unplanned visits during the night and a small caseload of ongoing needs to compliment the day services. Our main aims are to prevent unnecessary hospital admission; facilitate more expedient discharges from hospital or community beds; to support daytime services to meet needs and facilitate end of life care at home.

We achieve this by running a team consisting of a qualified nurse and support workers based at the IC24s Woodingdean site. As a Bank Community Staff Nurse you would work with an HCA using extended nursing skills to include male catheterisation and verification of death alongside the varied needs of patients in the community. A car is provided, you would not be working alone you will be joining a very friendly and supportive team.
