The role of Senior Software Development Manager is really important to us. You will lead our development teams, lead the next part of our technical strategy journey and working closely with stakeholders, you will provide a pivotal role in coordinating the innovative vision and development of our CLEO product portfolio.

At its core CLEO provides an exciting and comprehensive set of clinical application capabilities with rich interoperability and data insights which simplify delivery of complex 24/7 healthcare and business services. Your creative approach will bring to life user/consumer journeys, delivering and maintaining a highly mature, clinically safe and scalable product portfolio. Demonstrating advanced communication and prioritisation skills you will manage and communicate challenging priority deliverables within a complex environment.

Main duties of the job

Technical analysis, development, projects, and support are the key to everything we do to deliver success and innovation at CLEO. Our development teams work using agile methods, and we are constantly reviewing and adopting new technologies as well as assessing new approaches to solving the varied, complex and dynamic challenges we encounter. Whilst you will need to develop an excellent understanding of the complex architecture and functionality of our product portfolio and it is helpful to have hands-on development experience (primarily web based using .NET technologies and the Microsoft stack), the planning and team leading elements of this role are equally as important.

Location Remote hybrid (occasional travel to Ashford Kent)

Hours Available 37.5 hours (plus systems out of hours on call)

Accountable for the successful delivery of multiple development projects and management of live services - the Software Development Manager will be overseeing the prioritisation of multiple, likely conflicting, priorities across software development projects.

The post holder is responsible for championing the business and product vision and in collaboration with product owners and the solutions architect, understand and agree delivery priorities ensuring requirements are understood.

The post holder will provide accurate progress reports as required to senior management and will work with technology business partners to determine the solution and sign off the completed technical requirements. The post holder will manage and enhance the full software development lifecycle, including post release maintenance and issue resolution as required. Responsible for promoting software development best practices and ensuring development is carried out in a manner that increases efficiency over time, improving transparency using agile ways of working. You will also be expected to provide mentoring and support to other team members to build a high performing and engaged team.

  • Masters degree in Computer Science or related field such as Mathematics or Engineering

Experience

  • 4+ years management experience within a software engineering or project team
  • Experience with c#/.Net full stack
  • A solid track record of technical lead experience
  • Extensive experience in software development, building large scale integrated systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, especially when liaising with third parties, be it customers or partners
