Job summary
Hope Citadel runs 11 GP practices in Greater Manchester. We have different levels of management at different practices and are looking for a new manager to join the team at Glodwick Medical Practice. We are open to working with someone at the beginning of their management career, or someone who has a few more years under their belt. The role is supported by our Senior Practice Manager and wider management team.
Working with the Senior Practice Manager who will be based across a couple of
practices, you will grow in your competency of handing management tasks and
responsibilities.
As a Duty Manager, you will initially be responsible for the day to day operations of running the practice including staff rotas, QOF recall systems, some claims, and carrying out simple investigations
or attending meetings on behalf of the practice.
Main duties of the job
- To be responsible for, or to assist the senior practice manager in, the overall running of the practice, fulfilling any reasonable task as directed by your practice manager.
- To take responsibility for the management of the practice alongside the Senior Practice manager.
- To be responsible for compiling all practice rotas and ensuring these are communicated and understood by all staff.
- To assist, or lead, in matters of HR as directed by the practice manager/HR Manager, including the recruitment process and induction.
- To be aware of the practices contractual responsibilities and assist the management team in the quality provision of services.
- To be aware of the practices National, Direct and Local enhanced services and take the lead in searching for data and reporting performance to the appropriate NHS personnel.
- To be aware of the practices requirements under the Quality Outcomes Framework (QOF), and assist the practice manager in maximising performance.
- To provide support to clinical teams in correctly identifying and targeting patients for assessment and treatment in line with KPI, QOF, and enhanced service targets.
- To provide support and training for current and new staff including IT, the clinical system and ensuring that data quality guidelines are understood and adhered to.
- To attend PCN meetings on behalf of the practice, and feedback information for decisions by the Senior Practice Manager.
- To deliberately build a positive and fair culture amongst the team.

Glodwick Medical Practice is based in Oldham. It is part of the Hope Citadel group of practices. Hope Citadel Healthcare is a not-for-profit community interest company, who have been commissioned to provide NHS services to the local area where the practices are located.
