Job summary
This is an opportunity for a Nursing Associate to join the team
at John Street Medical Practice working under the supervision of the Practice Nurse team. Come and join us
if you are looking to develop your skills as a Nursing Associate in a General
Practice setting, including assisting with the delivery of health promotion,
phlebotomy, chronic disease management, immunisation, and vaccinations in line
with your training and level of experience.
Main duties of the job
Your main duties will include supporting the Practice Nursing team in delivering excellent patient care, providing health promotion to patients, delivering chronic disease management under the supervision of the Nursing team, immunisations (including childhood immunisations), cervical cytology, phlebotomy and other responsibilities in line with your training and experience.

- Contribute to the delivery of excellent patient
care, supporting the existing workforce under direct or indirect supervision
- Improve safety and quality of care at every
opportunity
- Undertake additional clinical training as
required
- Support registered nurses and the wider team to
enable them to focus on the more complex clinical care
- Support and provide chronic disease clinics and
maintain registers
- CVD prevention and tackling health inequalities
- Accurately perform and record clinical
observations such as blood pressure, temperature, respiration, and pulse rates
- Be able and qualified to perform cervical
screening and childhood vaccinations
- Support with vaccination programmes
- Engage positively with patients/carers/families
and staff members promoting mutually respectful and appropriate relationships
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding
providing and planning their care and carrying out risk assessment needs as required
- Communicate complex and sensitive information
verbally and in writing. Adapt and tailor communication skills to the need of
the listener

and behavioural health and well-being
- Maintain accurate and contemporaneous patient
health records
