Based in the beautiful
village of Bartestree, approximately 5 miles west of Hereford city, St
Michael's Hospice has been providing the highest quality care, free of charge,
to the local community for over 35 years. This care is made possible by
supporters taking part in fundraising events and activities, playing our
lottery, shopping at our retail outlets, making charitable grants and
donations, leaving gifts in their wills or giving freely of their time to
volunteer.
Main duties of the job
St Michaels Hospice Lottery
has around 6,500 members regularly playing the Lottery. The Lottery
Administrator will provide the daily administration, membership and database
management of the Hospice Lottery and provide statistical data. The Lottery
Administrator will work to deadlines and play an active role in ensuring that
Lottery members receive a high standard of supporter service and are able to
play on a weekly basis, while adhering to necessary compliance.
The successful candidate must
be able to meet deadlines as payments have to be processed on a weekly basis
prior to a draw taking place. You will be an enthusiastic, organised and
efficient individual with the ability to communicate confidently face to face
and via the telephone. You have excellent attention to detail, produce accurate
work and have a willingness to learn how to use our Lottery software and become
familiar with and comply with necessary gambling legislation.

- Salary Range: £19,235 - £20,445 pro rata
- Band: 6b
- Hours: 15 Hours over 3 days (Full time equivalent 37.5 hours per week)
- Department: Income Generation Marketing and Communications

- Reports to: Lottery Manager
Job purpose
To provide the daily administration, membership and database management of the Hospice Lottery.
To provide statistical data (internal/external) whilst adhering to Lottery Regulations as determined by the Gambling Commission in order to satisfy regulations of the Commission.
Responsibility Areas
Service delivery
- Performs the weekly lottery draw
- Inputs the members data into the database Deals with members enquires via email, telephone and face to face
- Processes new lottery memberships: forms, online, Direct Debits, welcome packs
Communication
- Ensure the lottery is widely known in the local community, championed internally with staff and volunteers, and that involvement is both easy and valued.
- Enthuses others and encourages them to support the Hospice and the lottery.
- Confidently communicates with lapsed lottery members to retain memberships
Financial management of the Lottery
- Provide timely budget information for the Lottery Manager
- Is aware of Hospice needs and targets
- Monitors the day to day administration of the lottery, including but not restricted to: updating payment methods and reconciling accounts.
- Has an understanding of Direct Debits, standing orders and card payments
- Is able to update Direct Debit payments as required
