Job summary

Are you a newly qualified GP (within the last two years, without a substantive post) looking for an exciting and supportive role to launch your career?

Weymouth & Portland Primary Care Network are seeking an enthusiastic, forward-thinking GP to join our multidisciplinary team under the NHS Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) on a 6 month fixed-term contract. Ideally we are looking for 1 full time equivalent, but part time working can be considered.

Due to ARRS funding restrictions, this GP must not already be working in the Weymouth and Portland area

Interviews for this post will take place 9th - 11th December 2024

Main duties of the job

We would like a newly qualified GP who can work independently and with other health care professionals to assess, diagnose and treat the conditions of patients attending within a primary care setting. To be professional, accountable, and responsible for all elements of clinical practice in accordance with the GMC code of conduct ensuring the safety of patients and quality of their care is primary.

Job description

Job responsibilities

In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake the duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care in a surgery on a PCN basis.

The successful candidate will be co-located with our PCN Same Day Access team and support with the ongoing development and expansion of the service. You will be based from only 2 sites, but will see patients from across the PCN. You will benefit from the support of experienced local GPs.

In addition to the above:

Working to BMA recommended safe working limits no more than 25 clinical contacts per day

15 minute appointments

Flexible working arrangements considered to suit individual circumstances, but within core working hours of 08.00 18.30

No duty sessions

Mixture of same day and routine pre-bookable appointments

Only self-generated admin

NHS Pension scheme is available

Access to administrative support

BMA model contract to include 6 weeks pro rata annual leave and one session of protected CPD time per week pro rata

Opportunity to develop a special interest can be considered e.g. menopause, frailty
