Job summary

Main duties of the job

The Wellbeing Advisor will: Build collaborative relationships and partnerships both internally and externally to improve the wellbeing offer. Share expert knowledge in the practice of workforce wellbeing and resilience. Champion flexible working and life balance, challenging thinking and attitudes to create a progressive, high trust and high support environment. Learn from the wellbeing needs of our staff and volunteers, leading on the design, delivery and evaluation of wellbeing interventions for our people. Lead on key delivery areas as part of the People & Culture delivery plan, shaping policy and practice.

About us

Ashgate Hospice, based in North Derbyshire, offers free palliative and end of life care for adults with life-limiting or incurable illnesses, including cancer, neurological diseases, and advanced heart, kidney, and lung conditions. Last year, we cared for over 2,400 people. Our aim is to support our patients by keeping them informed, managing their symptoms, and improving their quality of life from diagnosis onwards. We also provide vital support to the people who are important to them, offering practical assistance and emotional support, including bereavement services. Were more than a care provider. Were a campaigner for sustainable end of life care funding in the UK, and we continually invest in our services and workforce.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A relevant degree or equivalent relevant professional work experience
  • Evidence of recent CPD relating to workplace wellbeing

Desirable

  • Degree or post graduate qualification in related subject.

Experience

Essential

  • A sound and up to date understanding of workforce health & wellbeing best practice and current topics
  • Experience of developing, delivering & evaluating health and wellbeing programmes
  • A sound understanding of health and safety legislation and best practice surrounding workforce wellbeing issues including stress
  • Experience of producing complex information in an easy to understand way e.g. corporate documentation, including policies, guidance, reports and presentations.
  • Demonstrable understanding and evidence of inclusive practice

Desirable

  • Experience of delivering complex projects.
  • Experience of designing and implementing wellbeing programmes within a health or social care setting
