Job summary

We are always looking for passionate people to work for us. We are One Ashgate and that means we work together to look after each others wellbeing. We pride ourselves on ensuring that our staff have the time and support to deliver the very highest quality of care to the patients and families we look after. We know this is often a challenge in many settings, but we believe strongly that we only have one chance to get it right for our patients and their loved ones. Patients that are admitted to our inpatient unit require specialist palliative care such as complex symptom management and end of life care. Working in a hospice environment can be demanding and challenging, but it can also be very rewarding. We expect you to have a talent for forging strong empathetic relationships with all kinds of people. Due to the nature of the role, a flexible approach including the ability to work nights is essential. In return, provide excellent on-going training and support.

Main duties of the job

As a Bank Healthcare assistant on our Inpatient unit, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of doctors, registered nurses, healthcare assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and supportive care (chaplaincy, social workers, complementary therapists). Patients that are admitted to our inpatient unit require specialist palliative care such as complex symptom management and end of life care.
