As a Project Manager (ReSPECT Education Project) Band 6, with experience of project management and planning, this role presents a fantastic fixed term or secondment opportunity (to end March 2024, 15 hours p/w).

With responsibility for the planning and implementation of the ReSPECT education programme across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, you will engage with a broad range of stakeholders including general practice and care/ residential homes supporting people with long term conditions at risk of requiring emergency treatment.

You will be working closely with the Heads of Education at both Arthur Rank (Cambridge) and Sue Ryder (Peterborough) Hospices, and provide project management oversight, adopting robust programme methodology to develop a comprehensive project plan detailing: deliverables, timelines, risks, roles, interdependencies and required resources.

Job Purpose:

This is a partnership project requiring collaborative working with managers and clinicians, from scoping to implementation, through to evaluation and review. The Project Manager will need to engage with a broad range of stakeholders including general practice, care and residential homes who are supporting people with long term conditions who are at risk of requiring emergency treatment and would benefit from having a plan in place.

This is a fixed term role up to end of March 2024, suitable for a secondment and is for the planning and implementation of the ReSPECT education programme across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and will be accountable to the Director of Clinical Services, ARHC and reporting into the ReSPECT CCG Task and Finish Group (ICS).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Working closely with the Heads of Education at Arthur Rank Hospice Charity and Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice, the Project Manager will provide project management oversight, adopting robust programme methodology to develop a comprehensive project plan detailing: deliverables, timelines, risks, roles, interdependencies and required resources.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, including but not limited to, commissioners, NHS providers, local authorities, primary care, and the voluntary and community sector. Support opportunities to work together to realise maximum benefits across the partnership.
  • Lead effective collaboration across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to understand the perspective of partners, including commissioners, trainers, general practice, care and residential homes that make up the target groups for training, agree priority work areas and to bring about shared outcomes.
  • Take the lead as the central point of contact and be the key link between stakeholders across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.
  • Ensure good knowledge of emerging policies from national and regional teams that may impact on the project.
  • Present a project plan to the ReSPECT CCG Task and Finish Group (ICS) for a co-produced approach to ensuring implementation and monitoring. This will include stakeholder mapping and an exploratory audit of current practice.
  • Regular reporting of progress made against workstream objectives, including identified risks, issues and mitigating actions which fully meet the requirements for the Programme, providing assurance to the Line Manager and other meetings/Boards where requested.
  • To manage the meetings of the ReSPECT Education and Implementation Group and any work stream groups required for the delivery of the education programme, ensuring papers are timely and of high quality.
  • Identify and scope appropriate data sources to inform project. Collate and analyse data to support and prepare programme related reports (including presentations) to the required standard.
  • Ensure systems are in place to provide effective stakeholder engagement in the development and ongoing delivery against plans.
  • To support key stakeholders such as Healthwatch to ensure that the voice of patients, service users and their families has impact within the Programme.
  • Work with the communications and engagement teams to produce communications and engagement plans.
  • Manage own workload on a day-to-day basis, act independently to action and prioritise work to meet deadlines.
  • Allocate and organise resources as appropriate to support the project to make progress from concept to delivery in line with programme plan.
  • Collate and establish the end of project report, including the sustainable aspects of the project.

Health and Safety

  • Attends statutory training with respect to lifting, fire safety and any others required
  • Reports any defect in equipment immediately to the person with overall responsibility at that time.
