BPAS are an independent healthcare charity which, for more than 55 years, has been advocating and caring for women and couples who decide to end a pregnancy. We are the leading specialist of abortion advice and treatment in the UK, supporting over 100,000 women a year in over 50 healthcare clinics nationwide.
Over the last 12 months we have gone through significant organisational change and are about to embark on a strategic multi-year transformation programme, redesigning our care pathways and harnessing digital technology to ensure all patients have a streamlined service delivered in a way that suits their individual needs.
The Transformation Programme Lead will play a pivotal role in designing, leading, and delivering a bold and ambitious transformation programme that will shape the future of reproductive healthcare in the UK. Reporting directly to the CEO, the postholder will ensure alignment between strategic objectives and operational delivery, with a clear focus on improving service outcomes, quality, sustainability, and user experience.
This role requires a proven leader with significant experience in managing complex, cross-organisational change in a healthcare, third-sector, or public service setting. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator and collaborator, capable of influencing and inspiring stakeholders at all levels.
Main duties of the job
- Lead the development & delivery of an organisation-wide transformation programme, including a new digital model of care.
- Translate strategy into actionable programme plans with clear objectives, milestones, and KPIs.
- Provide regular reporting & strategic advice to the CEO, Board, & Executive Team.
- Develop & embed a robust change management approach, ensuring successful cultural & operational transformation.
- Work with internal & external stakeholders, including patients, clinicians, commissioners, & NHSE.
- Oversee financial planning, including business case development & post-implementation review.
- Develop programme governance structures to ensure accountability, transparency, & alignment with organisational priorities.
- Promote continuous improvement, quality assurance, & sustainability across all transformation workstreams.
About You
Along with strong communication & collaboration skills, and proven leadership experience managing cross organisational change in healthcare/third sector or public service setting, you will bring:
- Extensive programme leadership experience in healthcare, third sector, or public service.
- A track record of delivering transformational change, ideally with a digital component.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills.
- Financial, risk, and governance acumen.
- A commitment to inclusive, person-centred care.
- An understanding of safeguarding, regulatory, and governance requirements in health and charity sectors.

per annum
Hours Per Week: 36 hours over Monday to Friday
NB: Shifts that
are longer than 6 hours, will include a 30 minutes unpaid break.
On Call:
All
members of the Senior Operating Team will be required to participate in an
on-call rota. The On-Call policy and procedure is being reviewed and revised,
however it is envisaged that participation will involve being available to
receive emergency / on-call telephone calls up to 9pm Monday to Friday and on
Saturdays and Sundays approximately 4 times per year.
