Are you a registered Pharmacist with experience in a clinical or reproductive healthcare setting?
BPAS are seeking a dynamic and experienced Pharmacist to join our team on a casual basis, working remotely from home. Please note, as this is a casual position, the hours worked are on an ad-hoc basis.
As the Pharmacist, you will
play a pivotal role in providing clinical leadership and expert advice on the
safe and effective use of medicines within our organisation. You will
collaborate closely with our Lead Pharmacist to develop,
improve, implement, and embed robust systems and processes for medicines
management. Your expertise and guidance will ensure compliance with legal and
professional regulations while optimising the use of medications throughout our
organisation.
Main duties of the job
About you:
The successful candidate will have experience as a practising hospital pharmacist. You will have the opportunity to make a significant impact at BPAS by providing dynamic
clinical leadership and expert advice on the safe and effective use of
medicines. We are looking for a strategic thinker and collaborator
who can lead by example and inspire a team to deliver exceptional
pharmaceutical services. Your strong knowledge of medicines management,
regulatory compliance, and clinical best practices will be invaluable in
ensuring the highest standards of care and patient safety.
Duties of the role:
- Work with the Lead Pharmacist in the optimisation of medicines use, engaging strategically and
operationally.
- Support the
implementation of NICE Guidance and MHRA alerts in relation to medicines
- Provide pharmacy advice to the Nursing and
Midwifery colleagues and their related functions, as well as to support
services and clinicians.
- Develop and implement an
audit plan for drugs storage, distribution, and use across all BPAS sites.
- Undertake audits and
analyse medication errors, providing education and training to reduce
recurrence.
- Ensure compliance of
policies, training, and materials with relevant legislation, regulations,
and standards.
- Contribute professional input to investigations,
serious untoward incidents, complaints, and litigation management.
