Job summary
As an Employee Relations Advisor at BPAS, no two days are the same - one day you will be advising and coaching on a difficult conversation, the next you will be working with our managers to provide advice and guidance on absence cases.
Please note: This is a homeworking role with 1 day per week in our Head office in Leamington Spa. During the induction/training period more days in the office will be required.
The role is an 15 month fixed term contract.
The role:
You will provide a comprehensive, professional and pragmatic Employee Relations support in accordance with BPAS HR policies.
This role requires an in-depth understanding of the business to enable you to work closely with managers providing guidance and advice on all aspects of employee relations including performance management, grievances, disciplinaries and absence cases.
You will be comfortable hitting the ground running and using your own initiative to drive ER cases forward to an appropriate resolution in a timely manner. As the Employee Relations Advisor you will be involved in ER cases at all stages of the process including preparing relevant paperwork and coaching managers on the type of conversations needed.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a confident and articulate Employee Relations Advisor with proven solid hands-on experience in a similar role or a strong HR co-ordinator with employee relations experience. You will be someone familiar working with ambiguity who is able to use information to see the bigger picture to HR queries. You will have high expectations about your own standard of work and that of your colleagues.
You will be comfortable managing a variety of employee relation cases and adept at using your HR knowledge/skills when things dont always go to plan. Tenacious and resilient you will be able to handle multiple conflicting priorities.
With an ability to influence people at all levels of the organisation in a positive and friendly manner your organised and methodical approach will help to support BPAS and the HR Business Partners on Employee Relations matters and activities.
You will bring;
- In-depth knowledge of HR Principles and Policies related to all employee relation matters
- A high quality and attention to detail to all written work including letters and investigation reports
- A self-motivated team player who is comfortable working remotely from the HR department whilst able to retain a central influence with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrable real experience of handling difficult employee relation cases
