BPAS are looking for a Finance Analyst to come and join our finance team. This role is a permanent, hybrid role, working 36 hours per week over Monday to Friday. You will work remotely from home with travel to our Head Office once a week.
About the role:
As a Finance Analyst, you will provide detailed analysis of income and costs. Your responsibilities will include project monitoring, contracts profitability analysis, KPI analysis, & budgeting & forecasting. You'll participate in the implementation of Power BI reporting, ensuring data assurance and compliance with policies & procedures.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse financial projects, contribute to BPAS' long-term planning, & enhance your skills in financial modeling & analysis.
About you:
You'll be a part-qualified accountant with finance department experience. This could be within the not-for-profit sector, but we also welcome commercially aware individuals too. Your understanding of financial accounting principles, use of KPI metrics, and proficiency in Excel (including modeling) will be key to success. Power BI experience is desirable, and your ability to work collaboratively at all levels of an organisation will set you apart.
Main duties of the job
- Update project expenditure reports both opex and capex, in a timely manner
- Analyse monthly
income and activity by contract, service, and location to understand price and
volume variances.
- Develop understandings
of service delivery costs per client, in terms of staffing, stock consumables,
premises and other overhead and support costs
- Work with other technical
staff and financial management to develop financial reporting using Power BI, other
MS Office software and the outputs of financial and related systems
- Liaise with Project
Managers so they are able to maintain good financial control of their budgets,
specifically for IT costs and new clinic openings
- To develop methods for
incorporating new projects into budgets and forecasts
- Support contract
tenders by providing the required financial data
- Analyse variances each
month and investigate with accounts team as necessary, challenging and
escalating where issues are uncovered
- Provide insightful
commentary as necessary for Operational managers, Support managers and the
finance team, identifying and explaining underlying trends
- Provide support to
other non finance teams as necessary to understand their KPIs in particular
where they do not have dedicated data analysts
