If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Clinical Risk & Quality Governance Lead.

The role involves collaborating closely with senior managers to integrate the Safety Strategy, offering guidance and setting an example of best safety practices. Leading the development of a service culture centred on transparency and continuous learning, the position requires a proactive approach to anticipate and prevent patient safety incidents, as well as to implement safety recommendations effectively. The role will also involve providing support in managing incident responses and monitoring emerging themes and trends, and assistance in executing the Safety Strategy on a national scale.
Main duties of the job
- Provide support and guidance on patient safety to divisional leaders and operational managers.
- Conduct clinical risk reviews and audits to ensure compliance with standards.
- Collaborate with senior managers to embed the Safety Strategy and promote a fair and just culture.
- Investigate incidents using human factors methodologies and identify key learning points.
- Support incident response management and provide expert advice to staff.
- Monitor incident themes and trends, conducting system analysis of safety.
- Support local teams in the development and assurance of action plans.
- Share lessons learned from investigations and contribute to national safety strategies.
About You
We are looking for someone with a Professional qualification such as RN, RM, or ODP, along with significant experience in patient safety or clinical governance within healthcare. You will have the ability to prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure while maintaining confidentiality and psychological safety.
We are also looking for
- Knowledge of regulatory bodies and healthcare governance frameworks.
- Experience in incident investigation and risk management.
- Knowledge of CQC regulations and NHS Patient Safety Strategy
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to analyse complex data and produce detailed reports.
