Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Health Education Derbyshire training hub (HED) as a Workforce Planner. HED nurture and empower Derbyshires primary and social care workforce through the provision of professional, accessible, and inclusive training experiences, that meet their needs today and prepares them for the innovative healthcare system of tomorrow. Health Education Derbyshire Training hub is commissioned by Health Education England and hosted by Alexin Healthcare CIC, a registered non for-profit community interest company. The Workforce planner will be working within a cohesive, high performing and supportive Team.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will take a lead role on behalf of general practice in Derbyshire, working in conjunction with all the practices HED represent, Health Education England, Joined up care Derbyshire in implementing initiatives and manging programmes of work, identified to support the required expansion of skills and transformation of the general practice workforce as outlined in the DES contract, People plan and wider growth plans within Derbyshire primary care.

Continue the development of a strategic approach to workforce planning across general practice in Derbyshire.

Considering the impact to the general practice workforce plan of demand forecasts, affordability, and service provision.

Lead the embedding of workforce planning toolkits, ensuring that these toolkits, knowledge, and frameworks are available to assist Clinical Directors in their workforce planning responsibilities.

Identify and assess technology and data needs for effective strategic workforce planning within general practice.

Support in the analysis and interpretation of workforce data, to derive insight from current data to inform future workforce decisions.

Manage the communication and collaboration with a range of stakeholders, internal and external to general practice in Derbyshire and the wider joined up care Derbyshire system.

Ensuring that workforce planning is integrated as part of the business planning cycle across

Through horizon scanning, identify insight from internal and external workforce trends into the workforce planning process.

  • * Demonstrate aspects of workforce planning and activity
  • * Experience of presenting complex data and analysis in a visually accessible way and being able to communicate key conclusions, technical and complex issues to senior stakeholders
  • * A good understanding of the general practice environment and roles and responsibilities within it
  • * Knowledge and experience of project management and/or health information systems development
