Job summary
This
is an exciting opportunity to take part in the development of General Practice
and Primary Care Education throughout the Derbyshire region.
This role
is to support HED training hub at a senior level.
The
GP Educator will be part of the senior management team and will have the
opportunity to be involved in strategic planning and policy decision making.
The
GP Educator will report directly to the Clinical board directors of HED
training hub. The GP Educator will work closely with the senior business team
and will link with the wider Primary Care School, Derbyshire PCN Clinical
Directors, Joined Up Care Derbyshire and other system partners.
The
GP Educator will have responsibilities that may need attention throughout the
week and will need to be able to work flexibly to meet these needs with the
support of HED training Hub.
Main duties of the job
The
role will involve responsibility for a portfolio of lead areas. This will
include strategic development and working closely with all stakeholders to
deliver outcomes to maintain the core functions of HED Training Hub and
enhancements to multi professional training.
These
areas may change with the evolving landscape of the general practice workforce.
The
current portfolios will include:
Strategically leading HED training hubs educational
offer to support the multi professional current and future workforce
Support HED Teams in all aspects of their work and
problem solving at a senior level.

Qualifications
Essential
- Primary clinical healthcare qualification
- Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, professional association and/or regulatory body
- Attendance at courses aimed to support educational development (example: educator courses, Train the Trainer, etc)
Desirable
- Educational qualification such as a postgraduate, certificate diploma or masters in medical education.
Leadership & Relevant Experience
Essential
- Considerable experience of working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context
- Demonstrable track record of delivery in service and education
- Understanding of current health, social care and education policy
Desirable
- Previous or current appointment as a leader in healthcare education
- Understanding of current health, social care and education policy
