Job summary
To provide senior
medical leadership and clinical skills for the day to day running of Hospice and
Hospital support services focusing on seamless transfer of care from acute to community
care. In addition, the post holder will
contribute to the on-going excellence in clinical governance processes and education
within the Hospice and hospital. The post
includes taking part in the second on call rota for clinical advice,currently a 1 in 10
with 3 other specialist palliative care providers (plus additional time
supporting doctors in training).
Main duties of the job
Post One
The post holder will join the medical team
in providing clinical leadership and expertise across all settings, but
primarily focussing on community services.
There are strategic plans underway looking at all consultant posts
between East Sussex HealthCare NHS Trust, St Wilfrid's and St Michaels
Hospices. If achieved this will
introduce an internal rotation option for all consultants in post to work in
different settings as guided by job plan.
Post Two;

Qualifications
Essential
- MBBS or similar medical degree
- MRCP or equivalent (e.g. MRCGP, FRCA)
- Full GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Palliative Medicine or equivalent and Inclusion on the Palliative Medicine Specialist Registered (or within 6 months at time of interview) OR recognised equivalent training and progression to CESR expected within 6 months.

- Can demonstrate improved patient care through personal involvement in clinical governance procedures such as audit.
