Job summary

Herts Health GP Federation is dedicated to providing high-quality primary care services to our community. We are looking for a motivated and organised individual to join our team as a Primary Care Co-ordinator/Administrator.

Main duties of the job

You will be supporting 9 general practice teams to increase their screening rates for the national screening programmes by contacting hard to reach patients

You will be supporting the management of inbound documentation from hospitals and community services using Docman

You will be supporting the service team on an ad-hoc basis including covering reception from time to time and supporting with session changes and patient communication

Herts Health GP Federation is based in Hertsmere and supports practices in Borehamwood, Bushey, Radlett and Potters Bar.

Job description

Job responsibilities

Improving uptake on screening

  • Logging into EMIS and running searches using the population reporting tool
  • Contacting patients who have not responded to national screening invitations
  • Providing patients with information on the benefits of participating in national screening programmes
  • Booking appointments and addressing concerns where appropriate (and according to protocol)
  • Recording accurate notes in the patient medical record which reflect activity undertaken
  • Feeding back to the team on common themes and successes

Document Management

  • Using Docman, you will file and code letters according to agreed protocols
  • You will identify any actions outstanding in the course of processing documentation and forward these on appropriately
  • You will feedback to the team on common themes

Ad-Hoc

From time to time you will provide cover to the reception team within the Enhanced Access Service, this may include

  • Liaising with patients on changes to appointments
  • Registering patients to the clinical system
  • Creating referral forms/Blood forms as per clinical instruction
  • Providing reception desk function

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of working within a GP practice
  • Experience of managing clinical documentation using Docman
  • Experience of using EMIS clinical system
  • Reception experience

Qualifications

Essential

  • 5 A-C GCSE grades (or equivalent)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Housekeeping

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to empathize with patients
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Able to travel between sites as needed
  • Able to commit to working between 12:00 and 20:00
  • Able to commit to some Saturday cover
