Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Practitioner (GP) as the Staffordshire Training Hub Clinical Director working across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.

This is an exciting, high profile role aimed at developing an established Training Hub with a fairly new Team into a high functioning educational network across General Practice and the wider Primary Care landscape.

This post would suit a GP who is self-motivated, forward thinking and innovative leader, with an ability to influence, network and build relationships. We are looking for a GP to join our Team who can confidently influence, engage and challenge with integrity and credibility.

The interviews will be held virtually via MS Teams on Wednesday, 30 June 2021 between 0900-1500Hrs.

Main duties of the job

The STH Clinical Director will provide clinical leadership for the STH, offer support to the STH Manager and Team. Act as an Ambassador and represent the STH with key partners.

Provide clinical leadership and strategic input into the education, training and development of the Primary Care workforce across Staffordshire.

To support the workforce and Primary Care Networks (PCN) with the delivery of improved population health outcomes, and help transform the landscape of Primary Care and Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in the widest sense.

The post will offer a suitably experienced Practitioner the opportunity to contribute to the development of the local multi-professional workforce and to develop all roles within General Practice.

About us

The Staffordshire Training Hub (STH) is commissioned and funded by Health Education England on a not-for-profit basis, but works closely with the Staffordshire Sustainability and Transformation Partnership (STP) and Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs).

Training Hubs present an exciting opportunity to develop sustainable solutions to ensure the local multi-professional workforce feels empowered, and has the necessary skills, resilience and confidence to deliver excellent patient care.

It provides a platform for workforce retention, education and training opportunities for all clinical and non-clinical GP Practice staff.

The STH is an established Training Hub with a fairly new Team of clinical and non-clinical staff, who are all very enthusiastic and motivated to work together and deliver innovative work, aimed at supporting the NHS in delivering a sustainable service in Primary Care across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.

Office based at Stafford and an option to work from home, however the post holder will be required to travel across Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire as needed, so the ability to work flexibly is essential. There may also be some occasional travel further afield in England.

Provide Clinical leadership and support to the Staffordshire Training Hub Manager and Team members.

To understand the various STH funding streams and input into the STH business and financial plans.

To Chair STH Board and Operational Delivery Group meetings as and when required.

Actively promote and encourage a collaborative approach across Staffordshire regarding the delivery of the STH projects.

Identify educational, training and development opportunities to support the Primary Care workforce and help build an innovative programme of events and projects.

Lead and deliver projects within own area of clinical expertise.

Build, influence and maintain effective professional relationships with relevant stake holders including Primary Care and partner organisations.

Represent the STH at meetings with key partner organisations including the STP/ICS, CCG, NHSE, HEE and the Primary Care School and Primary Care Education providers.

Ensure adherence to governance principles and reporting requirements.

Act as an Ambassador for the STH being knowledgeable and aware of local and National policies/issues.

To undertake any other duties within the remit of the role.
