Job summary
The Clinical Database Manager is responsible for the operational use of
the database by all clinical staff and the strategic use of the system
alongside partner providers to ensure parity of information gathering and data
sharing
The database currently used by St Clare is SystmOne, We require the
successful applicant to support and develop new processes and structures to
manage this system whilst supporting staff to use it optimally. Pooling reports
both regularly and ad hoc is also a key component of the role to ensure that we
are committed to the model of intelligent data informing our practice. Leadership is required to motivate, innovate
and inspire users of the system to commit to a shared vision of the use of this
system and how this vision directly affects our patient care both operationally
and strategically
Main duties of the job
To
lead on the management of the clinical database within the hospice, seeking new
approaches on the management, storage, pooling and demonstration of data
To
be the link with the Integrated Care Board (ICB) contracts team, providing
data, stats and strengthening the demonstration of delivery of care from St
Clare Hospice
Lead
the ICB quarterly contract meetings by designing and delivering the
presentations to demonstrate outcomes, efficacy of service and solutions for
improvement within the clinical directorate
Lead
and deliver any Date Quality Improvement or Commissioning for Quality and
Innovation projects regarding data/stats/intelligence
Work
with the Quality Improvement and Governance Lead to consider new and innovative
ways to manage Business Intelligence within the Hospice, thus positively
affecting care outcomes and supporting new care opportunities
Design
and deliver any ad-hoc reports required by partner providers or funders (NHS or
otherwise)
Present
any new strategic ideas on BI to Senior Leadership Team (SLT) via presentation
with clear objectives and how these will positively impact patient care
Ensure
that all processes with the database and use of data support the Care Quality Commission
key lines of enquiry of SAFE, CARING, RESPONSIVE and WELL LED care
Create
supportive measures to ensure that the system is used optimally to ensure that
intelligent data are regularly pooled to inform service change

to the completion and analysis of quarterly and annual reports
Take
the lead on ensuring all information is updated and ready to support all the
outcomes that are required within our CQC assessment.
Work
closely with external colleagues who provide some reporting support for St
Clare Hospice
Tosupport the clinical teams in the use of the data collection software programme
to ensure consistency, efficiency and accurate implementation of activity data.
To
produce routine and ad-hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders
including commissioners which relate to quality, activity levels, service
utilisation and provision.
Support
with providing data for the annual Quality Account according to Department of
Health directives and timescales.
Take
an active role in the completion of the organisations Annual Report under the
direction and guidance of the Director of Finance and Resources.
Support
the Fundraising Team by providing clinical activity data where needed for cases
for support
In
collaboration with the Communications Manager, take an active role in the
completion of the Impact Report
Support
the Director of Patient Care and Quality with any work for relevant CQUINS
Implement
and chair a quarterly SystmOne User group within the hospice to ensure best
practice and parity of use across all teams.
Present
information at monthly and quarterly directors meetings.
Network
and represent St Clare Hospice at the national SystmOne group to learn and
share best practice
Create
and deliver an education package to support training needs of new and existing
staff with SystmOne user requirements and continue taking current project work
forwards
Support
and coach staff across the organisation to ensure they confident and competent
in the use of SystmOne.
Take
an active role in Information Governance under the support and direction of the
Quality Improvement and Governance Lead.
Support the Director
of Patient Care and Quality in ensuring that (where appropriate) coding and
