Job description

Job responsibilities

The trainees will work in Northorpe Hall Child & Family Trust in Kirklees or with Invictus Wellbeing in Calderdale (one vacancy with each organisation), with employment as a qualified CYWP on successful completion of the 12-month training course.

The posts are part of the Children and Young Peoples IAPT initiative, aiming to increase access to psychological therapies. This is intended to increase and upskill the children and young peoples mental health workforce. Applicants should have experience of supporting children and young people with their mental health and wellbeing. They need to be willing to undertake an intensive training course. And they must be able to demonstrate the aptitude to study at Level 6.

The one-year, full-time training course is provided by Greater Manchester Mental Health Foundation Trust in partnership with the University of Manchester. Trainees will study in-person for one or two days per week. The rest of the working week will be based in-service, using the skills gained during the training.

Trainee CYWPs are paid on NHS Agenda For Change pay band 4 (or equivalent), and will progress to NHS band 5 (or equivalent) on successful completion of the 12-month training.
