Northpoint Wellbeing Ltd

Therapeutic Group Practitioner and Pilot Lead (Trauma Service)

Information:

This job is now closed

Job summary

Northpoint Wellbeing has been commissioned to run an innovative Therapeutic Community (Trauma Informed Group Support) pilot, as part of integrated primary care provision, for 18 months initially.

We envisage that this pilot will meet the needs of young people who have experienced trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s), in a flexible and responsive way that is different to the current provision available.

Leeds has a high student population with many young people living away from their home networks and support for the first time. This cohort presents some particular challenges to professionals currently working within primary care; in particular the need to contain and support young people experiencing distress who have experienced a number of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACE’s) and past trauma.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will take the lead on the development, set-up and delivery of the Therapeutic Community pilot, including establishing effective referral pathways from range of statutory and VCSE providers. The post-holder will be responsible for the management of the Lived Experience Practitioners and day to day running of the pilot, as well as ensuring evaluation activity is carried out in line with the requirements of the contract.

About us

Northpoint Wellbeing is a charity which provides a range of services to promote emotional wellbeing. We believe that timely access to appropriate support, particularly talking therapies, is an effective way of promoting emotional wellbeing and relieving mental distress, for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Northpoint Wellbeing is a providing partner of the Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service commissioned by Leeds CCG. LMWS combines the pre-existing Leeds IAPT Service (offering “talking therapies” to adult NHS patients) with a broader mental wellbeing support offer based in primary care settings. It is funded until at least 2025. This innovative service delivers an integrated service offering mental health support for people with common mental health problems. Together, our partnership will help thousands of people in Leeds to increase their resilience and live their best lives within their community.

Please note interviews will take place on 4th April.
