Job summary
The LMWS is a thriving service brings together Leeds IAPT (talking therapies), a citywide primary care mental health support service (known as Locality Primary Care Mental Health), and psychological therapies in the perinatal period, into one contract.
We are delivering an Integrated service, based in primary care, which delivers the nationally mandated IAPT model while improving mental health support in primary care for people with complex Common Mental Health Disorders (CMHD) and stable Serious Mental Illness (SMI). There will also be an offer of psychological and peer support for women with CMHD in the perinatal period and their partners, and the whole service will meet unmet need and improve access and outcomes for under-represented groups.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be a qualified BACP accredited Counsellor (or working towards accreditation).
Working for Northpoint Wellbeing as a part of Leeds Mental Wellbeing Service (LMWS), the post-holder will provide interventions to a range of clients who have depression. In doing so, the post-holder will assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient-centred programmes of care to a specialist level, ensuring that their practice is within their sphere of competence and knowledge. The post-holder will work to professional and regulatory body codes, standards and guidance at all times. The post-holder will also be involved in the wider service, engaging when needed with primary care staff within LMWS and will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary.
