Job summary
The post holder will be part of the South Tyneside
Vaccination Team and will be expected to offer vaccination advice and deliver
COVID-19 vaccinations/Flu vaccinations to patients in the local vaccination
centre. They will also be required to deliver vaccinations out in the community
for example to patients in care homes and who are housebound.
The post holder will support the safe delivery of
vaccinations and help increase local uptake of the vaccination programme and
will work as part of the vaccination team alongside other registered clinical
professionals.
Main duties of the job
To champion the COVID19 vaccination programme
Administer vaccinations in line with National Protocol and
local Patient Specific Directives.
To ensure that the delivery of vaccinations complies with
both local and national standards. For example as set in the Green Book and on
site policy and procedure. e.g. cold chain,
storage, immunisation technique, sharps disposal, IPC etc.
To actively participate in health education and promotion
of vaccinations
To establish positive and professional relationships with
patients, colleagues and partners
To have an up to date awareness and knowledge of current
immunisation issues, controversies and protocols
To be able to competently and independently assess general
health and eligibility prior to vaccinations in line with protocol
To deal with sensitive information relating to health
issues an deal with the disclosure of illness sensitively
To complete consent forms with patients and to identify
where these are required

This post is based at Flagg Court Health Centre and The Glen
Medical Centre. All successful candidates will work on a bank basis and be
able to bid on shifts that are available.
Shifts are flexible and change depending on day or week, we
usually run clinics between the times below but are subject to change.
0800-1400
1400-2000
All vaccinators are expected to be at their station ready to
work.
