Job summary

1.0 Job Purpose

To provide Acupuncture therapy (Auricular and Body) within the Hartlepool Holistic Wellbeing Centre to external clients/service users promoting improved physical and mental wellbeing and developing an income stream through Acupuncture. To provide Acupuncture therapy to patients who will come via a referral system.

Main duties of the job

2.0 Key Tasks

• To take responsibility for diary and appointments for clients and ensure that bookings work seamlessly with other providers within the wellbeing centre.
• To carry out appropriate initial assessments to ensure client suitability for Acupuncture.
• To maintain and deliver excellence in therapy services ensuring that professional registrations are kept up to date.
• To liaise with Senior Manager TSS about any concern or issues identified in relation to clients/service users. Identify and signpost/refer clients to other professionals or other services provided by the Hospice or external providers as appropriate.
• Participate in contact meetings Senior Manager TSS and other Holistic Therapists and Practitioners to ensure continuing best practice.
• Ensure all risk assessments are in place and up to date.
• To maintain own professional responsibility in relation to professional body and keeping up to date with regulations and treatments.
• Maintain confidentiality and implement data protection around client information.
• To maintain clear and concise records of care to enable effective communication between all members of the Multidisciplinary Teams to facilitate high quality, effective patient care.
• To undertake all duties in accordance with the Law, the Hospice Philosophy and the Hospice commitment to equality of opportunity and collective responsibility.
