HUC is looking for a Medicines Management Administrator--a key player in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant management of medicines and medical equipment across all our operational bases.
In this vital role, you'll:
Maintain accurate stock levels
Coordinate timely and secure distribution of medicines
Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Collaborate with the Medicines Manager, suppliers, and clinical teams
Drive efficiency and reduce medication waste
Support and train staff in medicines management protocols
Your work will directly support the delivery of high-quality patient care by ensuring clinicians always have what they need, when they need it.
This role is office based but it requires the ability to travel to various HUCS locations when needed and therefore the ability to travel is essential.
Main duties of the job
Stock and Supply Management
Monitor and Maintain Stock Levels: Ensure medical equipment and drug stock levels are sufficient at all HUC bases, conducting comprehensive stock checks regularly to avoid shortages or excess waste.
Delivery Coordination: Organise the safe and timely delivery of medications, equipment, and consumables to all HUC bases, maintaining accurate records of distribution.
Inventory Optimisation: Identify and implement opportunities for improvement in stock management processes to achieve cost savings, minimising wastage, and ensure efficient use of resources.
Stock Security: Conduct regular visits to all bases to verify that drugs are stored securely and that stock control processes are being followed consistently.
Compliance and Reporting
Prescription Validation: Review and validate prescriptions for accuracy, addressing discrepancies promptly with clinicians and maintaining a high standard of data integrity.
Reporting: Prepare and analyse monthly medicines management reports to identify trends, areas for improvement, and recommendations for enhancing efficiency and compliance.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all medicines management activities meet legislative and regulatory requirements, including those set by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Audit Support: Support audits related to medicines management and implement actions based on audit findings to improve processes and maintain compliance.

- Proven experience in process and stock management, ideally within a healthcare or similarly regulated environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly, professionally, and concisely.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, with confidence in creating, interpreting, and presenting data.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to achieve shared service objectives.
- Excellent attention to detail, ensuring high standards of accuracy and consistency in all documentation and reporting.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively and meet multiple deadlines.
