Hours: 37.5 hours per weekopen08:00-20:00, Monday Friday (hours negotiable)

Main duties of the job
You will be a dedicated Nurse providing leadership that ensures the practice is delivering gold standard care to all our patients and that we operate in the patients best interest at all times.
With your proven experience of treatment room duties you will be able demonstrate a broad clinical knowledge including:
- Childhood Immunisations
- Cervical cytology
- Women's health and family planning
- Wound management
- Respiratory
- Diabetes
- Management of Long-Term Conditions
- Travel Health
- Understanding of QoF

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of the team at
Luton Town Centre Surgery (LTCS) within an organisation that promotes growth

Working with local healthcare providers, the Lead Practice Nurse will be a dedicated clinician who
leads and supports the recruitment and engagement of our non-medical clinical
workforce for LTCS. In this role you will review the
productivity and performance of the non-medical clinicians working in the
service and communicate effectively with them to help them improve their
productivity, performance, and clinical practice. You will work closely with
the Practice Manager to ensure that QoF are being met and that the service is
clinically safe.
You will be expected to provide leadership that ensures
the LTCS is delivering gold standard care to all our patients and that we
operate in the patients best interest at all times. This will involve reviewing
and developing, where necessary, practice-agreed protocols and guidelines to ensure
that we are delivering up to date evidence-based nursing care at all times.

Essential
- Clinician with current NMC registration and up to date qualification in the following:
- Chronic disease management
- Diabetes
- Respiratory
- Childhood immunisations
- Cervical Cytology
- Wound care management
- Treatment room experience
- Evidence of CPD and ongoing learning
- Experience in adult and child safeguarding
- Previous management experience
- Knowledge of QoF and experience in achieving targets
- Experience in infection, prevention and control monitoring
- Knowledge of CQC regulations
- Experience in working with PGDs/PSDs
- Extensive experience working in primary care
- Experience of audits.
- Experience in investigating and responding to incidents and complaints.
Desirable
- Understanding of appraisal process
- Understanding of how to develop protocols
- Minor illness qualification or willing to work towards extending their role
- Minor injury qualification or willing to work towards extending their role
- Non-medical prescriber
