Job summary

The Luton UTC Assistant Service Manager (ASM) will be responsible for leading on the corresponding transformation objectives designed to improve the quality and efficacy of the service delivered at Luton Urgent Treatment Centre.

Working as part of the wider HUC team and with local healthcare providers, the ASM will ensure the delivery of a safe, high-quality cost-effective service. They will report directly to the Head of Primary and Urgent Care, leading a multidisciplinary team of clinical staff to ensure all contractual key performance indicators are achieved and ensure the service is developed accordingly.

Main duties of the job

Ensuring that key objectives outlined in the LUTC Transformation Plan are delivered according to an agreed timeline

Working with the local leadership team to perform further gap analysis to inform remedies and incorporate into the Transformation Plan

Attendance at regular meetings to discuss actions/obstacles/solutions with local team

Supporting clinical leads in the delivery of quality improvement actions

This role will require a high level of unsocial hours working, particularly to support visibility, team meetings and base visits.

Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent significant experience
  • Formal Management Qualification or equivalent significant experience
  • Minimum of 12 months experience in a senior role working within Primary Care, ICB, or similar transferable skills

Desirable

  • Hold a management qualification appropriate to the post.
