Havering Health GP federation is seeking skilledPhlebotomist/HCAto
join us onbank worker basisto work in one of our GP hub sites
across Havering Primary Care. The successful candidate will be responsible
forcollecting blood samplessafely and efficiently, maintaining
accurate records, and providingexcellent patient care.
You will work in a supportive team environment, managing
patient appointments, and ensuring samples are collected and processed in line
with clinical protocols and quality standards.
Main duties of the job
- Performvenipuncture, capillary, and other blood collection proceduressafely and efficiently.
- Verify patient identity andmaintain accurate sample labeling and records.
- UseEMIS COMMUNITYsystems to manage appointments and queue flow.
- Ensure compliance withinfection control, health and safety, and data protection policies.
- Prepare, store, and transport samples to the laboratory following standard procedures.
- Provide reassurance and support to patients to ensure apositive experience.
- Collaborate with hub clinical and non-clinical staff, and practice teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Maintainphlebotomy equipmentand report any issues or shortages.

Qualifications
Essential
- Level 2 or 3 Phlebotomy Qualification or equivalent certification.
Knowledge and Skill
Essential
- Knowledge of infection control, health and safety procedures, and patient care standards.
- Ability to use EMIS community or similar appointment systems effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and professional bedside manner.
Experience
Desirable
- Previous experience as a phlebotomist in a NHS or GP practices preferred.
