Job summary

To support the department in day to day finance, contracts and performance monitoring activities, liaising with service managers and other team members to ensure KPIs and targets are met. To develop reports to deliver KPI information in relation to contract performance and hold suppliers to account for their performance against contract.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for a hardworking, reliable and flexible Finance Assistant to join our small, busy Finance Team.

Responsible for performing accounting duties associated with the organisation, mainly accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Maintain financial control of the day-to-day operations within Finance department including maintaining and updating accounting procedures and delegations, and preparing monthly reconciliations.

Duties and Responsibilities Finance

Supporting the day to day management of the BGPA, BETH, Bromleag Care Practice and PCN accounts

Act as first point of contact for Bromleag Care Practice, BETH and PCNs in relation to financial matters

Supporting preparation of monthly figures and management accounts

Daily bank reconciliations

Overseeing of all sales and purchase invoices

Chasing commissioners for outstanding sales invoices

Paying Solo Submissions and sending off remittance and backing data

Participating in monthly service meetings

Preparation of Payroll and sending off to payroll Bureau.

Prepare costings for services/business cases attend meetings with Commissioners

Contacting NHS SEL CCG for any queries with income

Project work on Payroll, Rota master, Xero and adhoc duties

Personal/Professional Development

Participate in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintain a record of own personal and/or professional development

Participate in any training programme implemented by the management team

Effectively manage own time, workload and resources

Assess own performance and development and take accountability for own actions, either directly or under supervision.

Communication

Demonstrate interpersonal skills when dealing with all levels of staff across the BGPA using persuasion, tact and reassurance where necessary.

Handle confidential patient material in a sensitive and discrete fashion in compliance with Bromley GP Alliance policy and procedure.

To be able to influence, motivate and involve individuals and teams to reach necessary performance target expectations.

Liaise with other departments and members of the Bromley GP Alliance and other organisations to ensure the smooth running of the office and to assisting the functioning of the team.

Post holders must maintain the confidentiality of information about patients, staff and other health service business in accordance with the Data Protection Act of 1998.
