Job summary

The South East London Integrated Care Board (ICB) and Greater London Authority (GLA) are offering an exciting opportunity to lead a pilot programme that will look to embed creative health within the SE London integrated care system, working as part of the personalised care agenda, as set out in the NHS Long Term Plan 2019

This 18-month contract (21 hours p/w) working across 6 SE London boroughs (Bexley, Bromley, Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark)

The role will involve mapping provision & networks across the 6 boroughs to identify areas of high concentration of activity & gaps in provision. You will highlight & detail areas of opportunity to link with the personalised care agenda as provision is mapped

You will attend meetings within the SE London ICB and key stakeholders in the area to advocate for creative health & develop a pilot programme of activities to be delivered in 2024

The preferred candidate will have a knowledge of personalised care & a passion for creative health plus an understanding of the benefits arts & creative practice can have on peoples health & wellbeing

Main duties of the job

Projects

To develop and deliver pilot programmes in SE London boroughs that have provided financial support which is likely to include:

Map sustainable / established creative health projects and activity across SE London, with a focus on marginalised groups.

Highlight and document links with work that can align with the personalised care agenda across SEL.

Develop an action plan & associated budget based on mapping exercise

Research ways to document and disseminate information from mapping to ensure widest possible reach and then implement mapping dissemination.

Stakeholder development

Convene network meetings of creative health providers and existing networks in SE London (e.g. SCHWeP) to share ideas and best practice. This will include developing terms of reference and delivering 6 meetings across the length of the contract.

Develop partnership with the regional National Academy for Social Prescribing (NASP), London Arts and Health and Centre for Creative Health.

Develop key contacts within the ICS, GP surgeries, social prescribers and local authorities within SE London

Ongoing

Collate evidence / research of the benefit of arts on peoples health & wellbeing

Advocate for how arts can have a positive impact on peoples health (physical & mental)

Reporting

Report back to the oversight group on a quarterly basis

Attend SE London ICB meetings and advocate for creative health programmes

Participate in evaluating the programme success

We are looking for an individual who will work with the SE London ICS to advocate for creative health, providing the SE London ICB with information and support that will enable it to realise the potential of, and routes into creative health activities and programmes.

The role will have access to a programming & implementation budget across the 18 month contract.

It is envisaged that the role will result in the following programme outputs:

Champion best practice in cultural social prescribing across London, nationally and internationally

Ensured equality of sustained access for SE Londoners to cultural social prescribing

Work with placed based social prescribers to embed cultural approaches to health and wellbeing at borough level

Grow the evidence base and evaluation methodologies for the delivery of quality creative health work

Improved understanding and access to the range of commissioning and funding sources for this area of work

  • Knowledge of the universal personalised care model as set out in the NHS Long Term Plan
  • Understands the health inequalities and issues facing SE London through previous experience
  • Previous relevant experience and proven track record of managing similar complex projects, network management and stakeholder management
  • Experience of budget setting and monitoring finances
  • Chairing/facilitation/minute taking
  • Evidence of approaches to equity and inclusion for seldom heard voices in co-design and co-production methodologies
  • Experience of coproducing with a range of stakeholders, including people from the community
