Job summary

Bromley GP Alliance offers a bookable phlebotomy service to patients in Bromley who have a blood test form from their GP.

We are looking for a confident and polite telephonist to work within a team to provide telephone cover for the services who can work efficiently and accurately.

The main duties of this role will be to answer a very busy phone line, therefore a good telephone manner and computer skills for booking the appointments are essential for this position. You will be responsible for taking in-coming calls, booking appointments and connecting patients to the relevant staff in our teams to help deal with their queries. You will also be responsible for sending messages to patients and GP Practices via email and text message.

Strong verbal communication skills and the confidence to deal with a wide variety of patients are crucial as you will interact with all staff and callers on a daily basis.

Main duties of the job

Duties and Responsibilities as Administrator

Deal with patient requests to book clinical appointments for services offered by Bromley GP Alliance.

Deal with patient enquiries, cancellation requests efficiently, ensuring patient satisfaction.

Supporting the management of the admin email

Liaising with GPs and host practices

Providing admin support to the services when required

Undertaking a wide range of administrative duties which include ensuring information is managed correctly, filed and followed up accordingly

Following training be competent in using the EMIS / Swiftqueue clinical system

Personal/Professional Development

Participate in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional development

Participate in any training programme implemented by the management team

Effectively manage own time, workload and resources

Assess own performance and development and take accountability for own actions, either directly or under supervision.

Liaise with other departments and members of the Bromley GP Alliance and other organisations to ensure the smooth running of the office and to assisting the functioning of the team.
