Job summary
The Community Dermatology Service has been established in Bromley since 2011 providing, wherever possible, a one-stop assessment and treatment service to patients with skin disease requiring support, clinical interventions and surgical procedures.The service also promotes patient self-management within the community setting.
Main duties of the job
The GPwER will undertake a comprehensive assessment
of the patient and administer treatment whilst offering support and advice to
both the patient and the referring GP. The GPwER will follow up patients as
necessary in order to monitor medications and progress while making changes to
the patients treatment plan as appropriate.
Following each consultation a letter will be sent to
the patients GP with a copy to the patient detailing any changes made to
medication or any suggestions for the GP to initiate or monitor.
The post holder will be responsible for overseeing their
own community dermatology clinic and work independently in assessing and
diagnosing skin disorders. The GPwER
will work closely with Bromley GPs and offer advice and guidance to improve the
education and training to primary care colleagues across Bromley in the
management of skin disorders.

Utilise expert knowledge of dermatology to act as a specialist
resource service and increasing the awareness of managing skin disorders in
primary care settings to enhance standards of care.
Undertake clinical letters / summary dictation.
Ensure the principles of clinical governance and risk management
are applied to clinical practice within the speciality.
